Elif's gap year
October 20, 2010 12:25 PM PDT

I have had my gap year for one year.
I finished Cinar Science High School in 2014. Then I entered YGS-LYS exams to get into Medical Department. I passed all these exams.
But my best friends and I decided to have a gap year for one year. And we wanted to have some rest, visit some countries, do some interesting sports. Then we have frozen our university enrollment.
Of course I planned my gap year with Fatma and Sema. Firstly, we flew to London, England. We went to a language course for two weeks. We improved our English. We visited London Science Museum. I loved it.
We went to NewYork, USA. There were a lot of depertmant stores as in London. We bought a lot of things with Sema. Because we like shopping more than Fatma. We went to Saudi Arabia for performing Hadj. I think it is the best place. Because It is Allah's home. I felt sensitive there..
I invoked, appealed to Allah. We went to India. It was a dirty place. Streets were disgusting. And there were traditional clothes, things in
Indian stores. I bought some interesting things. We had a camp. It was dangerous but anyway we did it.
We also went to Spain, Italy, France, Egypt, South Africa...
I never forget my shoppings, in India...
I think Gap year is very important for people..

Sema's gap year
October 20, 2010 10:25 AM PDT

When I finished Cinar High School. I made up my mind to have a gap year for one year with Elif and Fatma who are my best friends.
Because I was very tired after ygs-ys exams and I wanted to have some rest. I also wanted to learn English better.
Firstly, we went to London.London is the capital city of England. It was wonderful. Because there are a lot of shopping centres. And
I did too much shopping. So I had to borrow money from Fatma and Elif. We went to English Course in London for two weeks.
We visited the USA. Because we wanted to see New York. It was like London.
We went to Mecca, Suudi Arabia. I performed my hadj prayer. I was great. Because I had never done Hadj before. It is Muslim's religious prayer.
We had a camp in India. I didin't like it. Because it was frightining for me.
Also We went to Spain, Italy, France, Egypt, South Africa...
And I lerant English very well. That is more important for me..

MY GAP YEAR
I have done my gap year naerly for one year. Gap year means; to take a break before your education. It can be one year, two years...
I finished Cinar Science High School in 2014. And I entered YGS-LYS, TOFFLE exams to get into Engineering Department. I passed these exams.
But my best friends and I decided to have a gap year for one year. I think It isn't long time. It is enough for us. And we wanted to have some rest, practice our English with native speakers, visit some countries, go to abroad, do some interestings sports..Then we have frozen our university enrollments.
Of course I planned my gap year with Elif and Sema. Firstly, we flew to London, England. Because we think, England is a perfect place for learning English. We went to Language Academy for two weeks. We visited London Science Museum, London Eye... They are very interesting and great. But I didn't like English food.
So we brought some soup with ussmiley There aren't a lot of Turkısh restaurants. So we missed dönner, kebab, çig kofte. Everywhere is full of FastFood restaurants.
We went to NewYork, USA. There are a lot of depertmant stores. But I bought few things, because there aren't interesting things for me. It is like London. I did Bungee Jumping with Elif. Sema didn't do it because she was afraid of this sport. Also she couldn't believe her eyes, while we were doing Bungee Jumping. We went to Suudi Arabia for the Hadj prayer. I think it is best place I have ever been. Because It is Allah's home. It is interesting and holly. We cried too much.
I invoked, appealed to Allah...We went to India which is very very interesting place. A lot of Indian people respect to cows. That is strange I think. There are traditional clothes, things in Indian stores. I bought some interesting clothes. And we had a camp outside. We did tentes. It was dangerous but we did. Once when I woke up, I saw a frog on Sema's head.
I screamed! Elif and Sema were very frightened.big smile Also We went to Spain, Italy, France, Egypt, South Africa...
I will never forget my Safari, in South Africa...
I think Gap year means life..

Hi Berry !

I read your gap year. It is awesome. I wish, I went to Africa like you. But you know, I have chosen to learn different language, visit Asia, and work. It was a confusing gap year for me. First of all I read read read and read. When I stopped, this time I decided to travel Asia. I began from India. Believe me, their culture is the most interesting culture I have ever seen. I went to different places. I improved my communication skills with foreign people. And you know I had a rest. I think all people should do this because gap year improves you and your point of view. Now, I can speak seven languages. They are French, English, Turkish, Spanish, German, Greek and Arabic. I have already spoken Turkish and Arabic. But I have learned the others in the gap year. After some time I decided to work. Cause money is attractive! J I have saved money for my future. I was disorganized person before my gap year. But in gap year you are alone. No mother, no clean clothes, no hot food. You must do everthing yourself. So, now I am organized enough. I think your gap year is the best. But it is mine. It was enjoyable. If we meet, I will tell the details. J

Hi Ashley,

How are you? How is your family? My Gap Year was very funny. I went to Jarrold theatre arts and sports camp in my gap year. I had new friends. They were very friendly. Diana was very beautiful, Jane was very peevish, Caroline was very serious, Leslie was very sincere. I liked them. It was a Warm environment with fun and friendship in my camp. I read twenty books. I listened very interesting musics. I drew a picture but it was very bad. My friends laughed at my picture. My friends and I made A video. Sports were very funny. I swam in Olympic pool. My best experience was archery. Archery was very dangerous and funny. My worst experience was fencing. I didn’t lift the sword. It was very heavy. I took the photographs of nature. I liked it. But I didn’t like tennis. Camp was very funny and interesting. I learnt different hobbies. How was your Gap Year?

Goodbye. Your friend Ebru.
